At Becsa, we combine technology, digitalization, and new materials to develop infrastructure that is more efficient, safer, and environmentally friendly.
At Becsa, our core pillars are innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency, three key principles that we apply to deliver the most efficient and sustainable solutions for the present and future of infrastructure construction and maintenance.
Innovation is a global strategy implemented at all levels of the group to which Becsa belongs. Specifically within our construction division, we have implemented an R&D&I Management System in accordance with UNE 166002, which structures innovation processes and ensures continuous improvement in the knowledge, creativity, and skills of our workforce.

Becsa has long been pursuing a digitalisation strategy aimed at streamlining processes and increasing efficiency and safety in project execution, particularly in construction and maintenance.
Processes and increasing efficiency and safety in project execution, particularly in construction and maintenance.
In construction, these efforts are particularly reflected in improved workplace safety and the use of BIM methodology, which Becsa applies to manage its construction projects. Through our BIM division, we work collaboratively and across disciplines, centralising all information generated by the different stakeholders in a single model throughout the asset’s lifecycle.
Since 2023, Becsa has held BIM Information Management certification under UNE-EN ISO 19650 Parts 1 and 2, awarded by AENOR. This certification recognises Becsa as a Main Contractor in Building and Civil Works during the Execution Phase, with specialisations in Coordinator, Modeller, and Model Auditor.
Another key area of our business is road and urban maintenance. We run several projects focused on monitoring, diagnosing, and predicting the condition of the roads we maintain. This enables faster decision-making and allows us to anticipate infrastructure needs, ensuring road safety at all times.
Innovative and Sustainable New Materials
Becsa’s extensive experience in asphalt also extends to research and innovation. We have established a dedicated Innovation Centre for Asphalt and Materials, driving research and the development of materials with new properties.
Our commitment to a circular economy in asphalt and paving focuses, in particular, on the use of a high percentage of reclaimed asphalt sourced from the waste generated in our projects.
These new bituminous mixtures have demonstrated excellent performance, high resilience to the challenges of climate change, and, in some cases, enhanced properties compared to conventional mixes.
In the construction sector, pollution is a challenge that all companies must address to minimise their environmental impact. At Becsa, we develop projects aimed at reducing the pollutants generated by our activities. Key initiatives include:
Thanks to the Next Generation EU funds under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, we are gradually renewing our vehicle fleet. This allows us to incorporate environmentally friendly machinery without compromising the productivity of our equipment.
We are developing initiatives focused on particle emission detection and control, as well as noise pollution mitigation, both of which are showing promising results.
With regard to the decarbonisation of our activities, we maintain a leading position within the sector in the calculation of our carbon footprint. The path initiated in 2015 has enabled us, through our reduction plans, to decrease emissions, which has earned us the “Calculate, Reduce and Offset” certification from MITERD. In addition, in 2022 we began partially offsetting emissions through national reforestation projects.
